The stories we see on Lifetime network, USA or movies on Netflix and other television stations that speak on abuse towards women are sometimes hard to deal with. However, this topic isn't just women, thee are men, boys and girls who suffer from abuse everyday as well.  Being a survivor of sexual and mental abuse, this topic is can be hard to deal with; but it must be heard.  There are so many emotions, thoughts and fears that victims deal with everyday for the rest of their lives. Victims may have a sense of doubt and questions on why this situation has happen.  Memories of the tragedy can be long term and left with a sense of emptiness. The victim usually knows the person that is doing the abuse which makes the healing process that much harder to do. But having a support system can help with recovery. Strength as being told comes in numbers and with time. Being older, I thought that time will heal and in some cases it does and for others may take a little longer than others.

Sometimes as women we lose ourselves in so many ways and sadly so quickly. Women have so many roles without being asked or even receiving a thank you. Women do not look for justification on why we are superwoman or reasoning on why things should be done. However, we are tired of the shame, disrespect, and the notion of knowing we run this world to not be given a plaque of our own. Yes, people wake up; it is not a man’s world. Women bare children, run a household, work many different jobs, have long nights and short days, get up the next day and do it all again.........(sigh) but throughout many roles no respect or honor is given. Today women we will stand tall with our stilettos, gym shoes, yoga mats, or cute rhinestone sandals and take our place in this world with a bomb ass martini. We will grab some girlfriends and just chill to the thought of no kids running, crying, or screaming because their sleep and this glass of wine has gotten me through another day with some great food an

It’s that time of the year to tell that special lady “thank you” and “you have always been there for me” is coming up! To all the mothers out there biological or by some sort of chance placed in that role HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! You have given birth, raise children even if they are not bilogically yours, cared for others and always kept a smile. You stand tall and battle the early mornings as well as the late nights, still smile and keep yourself together. You may have a glass of wine when the children are sleep and say “What the hell is really going on?” You may give your cares, worries and cries to your spiritual areas, but one thing for sure is GIRLFRIEND YOU ROCK!!
